Since I downloaded entire install and don't have the IK install media: the installs and sequence MIGHT be different? this won't help but:ġ) I installed ST4 4.0.2 onto my D drive (D:\Music\IK MultiMedia\)Ģ) Installed just each ST4 Lib into D:\Music\IK libs\ST4 libs. Native ST4 only libs don't have any Patterns (essentially midi playback loops) so that's why installing just ST4 only libs wouldn't have any patterns to start a \Patterns folder. When I install the ST4 sounds, it places those two files together in a folder called SampleTank 4 (D:\IK Multimedia\Sampletank 4). I've noticed that on my install of the sounds over on the hard drive, the ST3 sounds are split between 2 folders: D:\IK Multimedia\Instruments and D:\IK Multimedia\Patterns. Strangely enough, If I point ST4 to D:\IK Multimedia (which is where I moved my ST3 sounds years ago), I can pick up not only my ST3 sounds, but also imported sounds from ST2, ST2XL, eSoundsz Piano Collection, eSoundz Vocal Collection, and Omnisynth. Currently I have ST3 and ST4 sounds in separate folders under an IK Multimedia directory on my non-SSD drive as follows:ĭ:\IK Multimedia\SampleTank 3 and D:\IK Multimedia\SampleTank 4 I've tried installing the sounds to various folders. Thanks Larry, I do appreciate your suggestions and help.ĭue to my lousy internet speeds out here in the country, I got my copy of ST4 on a supplied USB so I wouldn't have to download over 75Gb of data. 1, etc.) will not be seen/loadable in ST 4. ST 4 should have had a MASTER library installer - that unpacked and installed "discovered" zip files - the user should not have to manually unzip and install what 100+ filesįWIW Only current known issue (see IK forum) is any ST3 imported libs (like older ST2, Miro Phil. If you were just running the IK Installers and merrily clicking away doing the various repetitive steps adn not paying attention a lot of the sounds may have gotten installed, and commingled with ST3 sounds - that also means you have a ST3 and ST4 mess to clean up first. I suspect at some point IK will have to re-think DEFAULT paths and file names (I don't use defaults at all)ĭouble check: if ST3 was installed first, and it probably was, a lot of the ST4 IK SOUND CONTENT installers seem to pick up that OLD ST3 path. (I completely shortened paths because in a few cases the defaults even in ST 2 were bumping up against the 255 character path limits even an issue for Win 10. You are using current release 4.0.2 and it sounds like you know this but you did point to the ST 4 sounds library path(s), right?
